Welcome to Sydney Says Yes.

Welcome to Sydney Says Yes.

We are a new pro-people, pro-housing movement with a vision for a better Sydney. We believe in a Sydney that is walkable, affordable, sustainable, and enjoyable - and so much more.

We are inspired by Yes In My Back Yard (YIMBY) movements here in Australia and around the world.

What's the problem?
Sydney has some of the most expensive housing in the world. The main reason is that we aren't building enough of it. That needs to change.

Our planning system makes it easy to say "No", and our political system gives a sugar hit to MPs who "stop overdevelopment". Supporting housing is principled and popular, but it takes leadership.

What can you do about it?
If you want to change the way people and governments think and speak about density, then we are for you.

If you want to make it easier for governments and communities to say "Yes" to more housing, and you want to build a better city - one that says "Yes In My Back Yard" - then Sydney Says Yes is for you.

We want to build a movement that empowers people to advocate for more housing in their communities.

How can we make change?
By joining Sydney Says Yes, you will receive access to resources, information, training, and meet like-minded people who can change the conversation about planning, housing, density, public and active transport.

The planning system is dominated by people with the time, energy, and resources to write submissions, lobby politicians, and show up to public meetings to make their voices heard. Normally, those voices just say "No".

We want to build a network of people who can support and reinforce each other to make sure the system represents us. Working together, we can say "Yes" to more housing, better access to public and active transport, and create a higher standard of living for everyone.
